About this book

Rachel Conlin-McLeod's adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson classic short story, "The Little Match Girl".

Set in Moscow, in Tsarist Russia at the turn of the century, Nadia is a poor little girl thrown from her home by her drunk, grief-struck father. In order to return home and appease her father's demands, she must set out into the cold wintry streets of Moscow and sell a tray of her father's matches from his candle shop. Along the way, Nadia experiences many things and finds the matches she carries to be of great value.
